Moving onward, here is another example of yesterday’s 12″x12″ DSP paper bag tutorial.  If you didn’t read yesterday’s post, check out the simple tutorial.  All you will need is your favorite Designer Series Paper, your paper trimmer, paper snips and Sticky Strip.  It is a truly simple bag to make in only minutes and you can embellish it however you please.

Stampin’ Up! supplies:

  • High Tide Designer Series Paper* Available until June 1, 2014
  • Mini Clothespins
  • Gold Sequin Trim
  • Tea Party Stamp Set
  • Pool Party ink
  • Whisper White card stock
  • Stampin’ Paper Trimmer
  • Paper Snips
  • Sticky Strip

Tea Party stamp set?  Why yes, I used the Tea Party Stamp set’s “Thank You” tag for this manly bag.  You are probably like me in that you are always looking for a manly stamp set, or an idea of how to incorporate masculine elements into your cards or projects.  Well look no further, the lovely Tea Party stamp set works perfect for this thank you treat bag.

In this case, I used the extra DSP cut from the top panels and flipped to the other side and adhered over the front panel. I didn’t want to fuss with hole punching so I closed it up with a mini clothespin.  How ’bout that Gold Sequin trim, it doesn’t look girly here- it looks like gold rope on a ship.  Then I topped it all off with the Thank you tag.  Wouldn’t it make a perfect thank you party favor for your little guy?!

Cute 12×12 Treat Bag

Adorable 12″ x 12″ Birthday Treat Bag Tutorial

Stampin’ Up! Supplies:

  • Birthday Basic DSP
  • Basic Gray card stock
  • Crisp Cantaloupe Ruffle Trim
  • Bermuda Bay 1/8″ Ribbon
  • Stampin Trimmer
  • 1/8″ Hole Punch
  • Sticky Strip

As I was perusing Pinterest this morning, I ran across the cutest bag tutorial from Pootles Papercrafts, another Stampin’ Up! demonstrator.  I am trying to use up my enormous stash of designer series paper and this is the perfect way to do it.  In addition,  the DSP is retiring on the first of June and you don’t want to miss out.

Let me tell you a little secret. Tomorrow there is going to be a HUGE CLEARANCE BLOWOUT.  And everything is going to sell out.  At like 12:00AM. So, with that said, order TODAY or at midnight tonight, because when items hit the clearance rack, they rarely last more than a few hours!

I am going to refer you to the video because it makes putting it together easier for you and will make more sense. However, I have listed the measurements and directions below so that you can look back for reference and go along with the video.

Here is the link to the tutorial: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gUK4pUULkas

Directions:

Use DSP Paper that measures 12×12″

Score at 2 1/4, 5 3/4, 8, 11 1/2″.

Score on the opposite side at 2 1/4 and  9 1/4″.

Cut all bottom slits (smaller scored side).  Cut out the smallest sliver. For the top, which is the larger of the scored panels, cut off all but the second panel from the right, including the sliver (So that makes it the first LARGE panel on the right hand side- leave that one in tact).

Budget Buster: Free Monthly Expense Tracker

FREEExpensestracker

As well as crafting, I enjoy making spreadsheets and printables.  I like going over my budget (probably in too much detail, too often). Actually, I am a little neurotic about it. So, here’s the good news: I made a printable budget sheet to share with you.

Here is a preview of what it looks like. (Don’t right click and save this one because it isn’t the full version).

Check out the Sweet Sorbet Designer Series Paper across the top.  You can use My Digital Studio to add color to any project. I love the scallop design.

What is it:

It is a basic household expense tracker that will help you ensure your recurring monthly obligations are paid on time for the entire year.  It lists the name of the expense, the amount, and the due date.  In addition, the initial of each month of the year is listed in a column at the top.

How to use it:

To get the most out of this printable, put it in a binder, at the very front.  Start by listing each monthly expense, adding ones that are specific to your needs and skipping ones that don’t apply to you.  Each month when you balance your account, or when you are mailing out checks (or paying online) check off that month.  List things that are on automatic debit and the date they debit just to remind yourself to 1) make sure they actually came out of your account, 2) make sure you have enough money for them to clear 3) remind yourself to use the service if you are paying for it (gym membership, subscription, etc.) or cancel it if you aren’t getting use out of it.

How to get it:

Alright, for the fun part I have create a few options for you:

#1 Monthly Expenses (with generic bill listing): Monthly Bills

#2 Monthly Expenses- Blank (you’ll have to write everything in): Monthly Bills_Blank

#3 Monthly Expenses Word Doc* (type in your own expenses): Monthly Bills_Blank

*If you do not have the same fonts installed your document may look different.

Just click the links to open and download the PDF files.  Enjoy them, pin them, share them with a friend, but don’t forget to use them!

Happy crafting & budgeting!
