Project Life & My Digital Studio

You may have  noticed the updated look to my blog.  I have been using My Digital Studio from the start of my blog to create the header, my Facebook cover photo, twitter page, and Etsy storefront.  I love that I can incorporate the elements from my cards into me social media places as well.

For a little over the past year, my blog has looked like this.  And I love it, I really do.  It is bright, cheery and in the clouds like my head.  I get distracted easily daydreaming. stampinfoolblogheader.jpg

But, it was time for a change. I wanted to update Stampin’ Fool to reflect the new trends in card making, scrapbooking and DIY crafting.  Pinterest has opened up the crafting world to show off everyone’s unique talents through DIY projects.  I wanted this blog to show you the new colors, shapes, patterns, fonts and ways of crafting.  So, I changed the header.

I opened up My Digital Studio, ran the update (make sure you run the FREE update, it includes the New In Colors) and downloaded brand new content, Project Life Digital cards.

Specifically, I downloaded the Project Life Happiness Is digital cards (138041  $19.95)

Download includes
* 54-piece SVG stamp brush set
* 200 embellishments:
-74 filler card embellishments (3″ x 4″)
-54 journaling card embellishments (3″ x 4″)
-12 filler card embellishments (4″ x 4″)
-12 journaling card

As you can see from the list, it includes a TON of content.  I used the journaling cards as the background paper by lining up two of them side by side and grouping the objects.  I used the washi tape at the top of the banner- *Tip: add a square, recolor it white, and resize it to fit behind the washi tape and send it behind the washi tape so that you can see the washi pattern on top of the other patterned paper.  I recolored the rhinestones to coordinate with the new In Colors.

I really love the new bright patterned look of these journaling cards.  I can’t wait to get my hands on the paper copies too!

Small-Final

Beach Baby scrapbook page

Today’s post is a quick and easy page.  I wanted to document our first trip to the beach with Silas.

This was an easy way to make it happen.  I used Pool Party 12×12 background card stock and added High Tide Designer Series Paper.  Each photo was matted on Whisper White card stock and the two left photos are “framed” with Crumb Cake card stock that was stamped with the Hardwood background stamp.  It makes a beautiful woodgrain frame.

The Beach Baby title is cut with my Silhouette E-cutter (which will play a large part in the NEW Annual Catalog). It is mounted on a cute camera shaped – made with the Envelope Punch Board!

MDS Monday: Free Wallpaper

Free Wallpaper Created in My Digital Studio

Happy Monday!

For this week’s My Digital Studio Monday I was in need of a desktop wallpaper with a calendar- like the free ones from Stampin’ Up! all last year.  Well, I am totally reliant on the calendar being easily accessible while working on my laptop so having gone the past three months without one has been torture.  But, MDS makes it easy to create a calendar and you can decorate it however you please.

I started out by creating a project that matched my desktop dimensions (1200 x 800 pixels).

Then I decided on a theme- Crisp Cantaloupe.  I added the card stock background.

Next I added a few rows of embellishments.  The white frame is from the Grunge download that comes preloaded on MDS.  You will have to size it down for it to fit onto your screen.

I added a calendar template for April 2014, changed the font and enlarged it to 20 pt. and used the universal search query to find the month April and decided on this little banner.  I changed the color to Pool Party to match my dots.

I went back and added a drop shadow to each row of dots, the banner and the frame.

That’s all. Simple & Sweet.  Perfect for me, April (no pun intended).

To download this wallpaper you will right click and select “Save Image As”.  Save it to your computer and go into your settings to change your wallpaper.  Tada- now you too can have a functional desktop calendar.  I think I will be doing this every month!
