Awesome Thank You Card

Awesome … Thanks! is one of the sweet sayings from the Stampin’ Up! stamp set Yippie Skippie.  It conveys that you are thankful, happy, grateful, and excited.  I like its simplicity, yet fresh new appearance.

I wanted to show you an example of how to use the Stampin’ Up! catalog for inspiration, design examples and to model your cards after the creations in the catalog.  After all, it isn’t just a catalog with object to buy, it is an idea book, like a card making magazine to help you USE the supplies and products to build special gifts for those you love.

Flip with me to page 76 0f the Annual Catalog. (If you don’t have one, you can view the PDF, but I encourage you to email me for a catalog and I will send you one. It is a priceless crafting tool). Here’s a preview of what the project looks like.

Here is the same card with the reverse side of the In Color designer series paper stack patten.  And below is an photo with both cards together.  As you can see, I photoed them on a piece of Crushed Curry card stock, like in the catalog.  It made them look brighter and the colors stand out better.  Nonetheless, the card is beautiful and was easily copied from the catalog.

What do you think?  Which one do you like better?  All I did was switch out the stamped sentiment and the Eastern Elegance DSP for Crushed Curry card stock and In Color paper stack cardstock.

I challenge you to look through the catalog and pick out cards that you would like to recreate (I use post it notes to tab the pages).  Then recreate the card either the same or with a few simplifications.  Happy Stamping!!
